# Downloading assets

Collage lets you save a copy of any asset to your computer or device for offline use — whether you need one file, a batch, or a whole folder. This article covers each path.

## Download a single asset

1. Hover over the asset (or open it) and click the option menu.
2. Choose **Download**.
3. For certain asset types, a dialog opens where you can pick the **format** and, for images or video, the **resolution**.
4. Choose the option that fits your use, then confirm to start the download.

For assets without multiple options, the download starts directly with no dialog.

> Choose the highest resolution for print and a smaller one for web or email.

## Download several assets at once

1. Select multiple assets using their checkboxes.
2. In the bulk-action toolbar, click **Download**.
3. The selected files are saved together as a single **ZIP** file.

If only one asset is selected, it downloads directly instead of as a ZIP.

## Download an entire folder

1. Open the folder's option menu.
2. Choose **Download**.
3. The whole folder — all its assets — is saved as a **.zip** file.

> Empty folders can't be downloaded — make sure a folder contains at least one asset first.

## Download from the brand portal

Portal viewers and end users download approved content directly from the **brand portal**. Anyone with a share link can view and download a **Public** asset, unless the person who created the link enabled **Hide Download** (view-only).

To grab an earlier file rather than the current one, open the asset's **Version History** tab and download that version.
