# Editing images in Collage

Collage includes a lightweight image editor so you can make simple changes to your image assets without switching to an external tool. The **Edit** tab is available only for images and lets you crop, resize, rotate, and flip a file, then download an edited copy — directly from its detail view.

## Open the Edit tab

1. Open the asset by clicking it to view its detail tabs.
2. Select the **Edit** tab. This tab appears only when the asset is an image file.

> Note: The **Edit** tab is available on desktop only and may not appear on every plan.

## Choose an editing tool

The **Edit** tab provides:

- **Crop** — trim the image to keep only the area you want.
- **Resize** — adjust the image's dimensions.
- **Rotate** — turn the image to correct or change its orientation.
- **Flip** — mirror the image horizontally or vertically.
- **Export Format** — choose the file format for your downloaded copy.

When you're finished, select **Download** to save an edited copy to your device. Downloading doesn't change the original asset — the file stored in Collage stays the same. To keep your edits reflected in Collage, re-upload the downloaded image, optionally as a new version of the asset.

For non-image assets (video, audio, or documents), the **Edit** tab isn't shown.
