# Moving and deleting assets

Every asset in Collage has an option menu with actions for relocating and removing it. This article covers **Move** and **Delete**, plus how deleted assets are recovered. Open the menu by clicking the three-dot icon next to an asset.

## Move an asset

Moving relocates an asset to a different folder without creating a copy:

1. From the asset option menu, select **Move**.
2. In the popup, use the **Search Folder** box or scroll the folder list to find a destination. Folders with an arrow contain subfolders you can expand.
3. To create a destination that doesn't exist yet, click the **+** icon.
4. Click **Move**. This button enables only after you pick a folder.

You can select only one destination, and you can't move an asset to the folder it's already in. Once moved, the original folder no longer contains the asset.

## Delete an asset

Deleting removes an asset from your active workspace and sends it to **Trash**:

1. From the asset option menu, select **Delete**.

### Recover a deleted asset

After deleting, you have 30 days to recover the asset from **Trash**:

- **Restore** — returns the asset to its original location.
- **Delete Forever** — permanently removes the asset; this can't be undone.
- Items left in Trash are automatically deleted after 30 days.

Always review an asset before deleting it, and remember you can restore it if you change your mind.
