# Configuring your notification settings

Notification Settings control which account activity generates alerts, and whether each one arrives as an in-app (system) alert, an email, or both. There are two levels:

- **Account Settings → Notification Settings** — the account-wide defaults, **available to admins only**. The steps below cover these controls.
- **Profile Settings** — where each member manages the notifications they personally receive, separate from the account-wide settings.

To open the account-wide controls, go to **Account Settings** and click **Notification Settings** in the left menu.

## Turn all notifications on or off

At the top of the page is the master **System & Email Notifications** switch:

- **On** — you'll receive notifications according to the per-event toggles below.
- **Off** — no notifications are sent at all, regardless of the individual toggles.

> If you've stopped receiving alerts entirely, check this master switch first — when it's off, it overrides every per-event setting.

## Choose what you're notified about

Below the master switch, each event has its own **System** and **Email** toggle, set independently. The events are grouped:

### General

- **New User Created** — an admin adds a new brand portal user.

### Asset / Folder activity

- **New Asset Version Added**
- **New Asset or Folder Uploaded**
- **Asset or Folder Deleted**
- **Shared Link Generated for Asset or Folder**

### Collage activity

- **New Collage Created**
- **Assets Added to Collage**
- **Assets Removed from Collage**
- **Shared Link Generated for Collage**
- **Shared Link Generated for Collage Assets**

The **System** toggle controls in-app notifications; the **Email** toggle controls emails. If both are off for an event, you won't be notified through any channel.

## How long notifications are kept

The **Notification Center** displays activity from the **last 30 days**. Older notifications are automatically cleared, so review anything important within that window.

## Member notification settings

Not an admin? You won't see Notification Settings in Account Settings. Instead, open **Profile Settings** to manage the notifications you personally receive. These member-level preferences are separate from the account-wide settings above.
