# Searching and discovering content in Collage

Search is one of the most important parts of Collage. Click the search bar to look up content by keyword — product names, campaign names, file types, or descriptive terms.

## Search by keyword

As you type, Collage shows real-time suggestions pulled from your assets, Collages, and folders. Below the input, a **Recommended Tags** section lets you click a tag to filter instantly. Your **Recent Searches** are saved as clickable shortcuts so you can re-run a past query in one click.

Results are grouped into tabs — **All**, **Assets**, **Collages**, and **Folders** — each showing the top matches with a "View all (xx)" link to see everything in that group.

> Note: Click the search bar — available on nearly every page — or press **Command + F** (Mac) or **Control + F** (Windows) to open the search overlay. From the overlay you can search keywords, apply filters, and select results without leaving your current page. Press **Enter** or click **View All** to open a full search results page for refining your query.

## Narrow results with filters

Click **Filter** to refine your search. Filters can be combined — an asset must satisfy *every* active filter to appear.

- **Date Added** — choose a preset (30 minutes, 1 day, 3 days, 1 week, or 1 month ago) or **Custom**, plus a condition of **Before**, **After**, or **Between**. Presets default to *After*; a custom range uses *Between*.
- **Last Modified Date** — the same options, applied to when an asset was last changed.
- **Tags** — pick one or more tags with a condition: **Include all of**, **Include any of**, **Exclude all of**, **Exclude any of**, or **Contains**.
- **File Type** — match **Is** or **Is not** a type such as PNG, PDF, JPG, or SVG.
- **Uploaded By** — match assets uploaded by a specific person.
- **Collage** — match assets that belong to a specific Collage.
- **Visibility** — match **Is** or **Is not** **Available** or **Restricted**.
- **Orientation** — for images only, match **Is** or **Is not** Horizontal, Vertical, or Square (ignored for non-image files).
- **Custom fields** — filter by any custom fields defined for your workspace.

> Note: Combine filters to zero in fast — for example, the `product-photography` tag + `JPG` added in the last 7 days.

Once your library is well tagged, search becomes more powerful.

## View and organize the full search results page

Once you open the full results page — via **View All** or pressing **Enter** — click **Display** (the gear icon) to set **View** (Grid or List; Mosaic isn't offered here), **Sort by**, and, in Grid view, **Thumbnail size**.
